Huddersfield Town host play-off chasing Leyton Orient on the final day of 2024-25 Sky Bet League One season.
Victory could see Huddersfield finish eighth if Bolton suffer defeat and Blackpool fail to win, whilst Leyton Orient simply need to match or better Reading’s result to clinch the final play-off spot.
Team News
Callum Marshall is available for Huddersfield after he was suspended for their 3-1 defeat at Exeter City.
Radinio Balker (ankle), Mickel Miller, Ruben Roosken, Nigel Lonwijk (all hamstring), Rhys Healey, Tom Lees, and Danny Ward (all knee) remain ruled out.
Leyton Orient could be without Brandon Cooper after he suffered an injury during their win over Wycombe.
Jack Currie (unspecified) is a doubt after he missed that game.
When is Kick-Off?
Huddersfield host Leyton Orient at John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday 3 May at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports Football in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Huddersfield are unbeaten in their last eight meetings against Leyton Orient (W5, D3).
- Leyton Orient have lost just one of their last five visits to Huddersfield (W2, D2, L1).
- Each of Huddersfield’s last two home games against Leyton Orient ended in 2-2 draws.
- Josh Koroma has scored in each of Huddersfield’s last three matches (L3).
- Charlie Kelman has scored five goals in Orient’s last three away games (W3).
Prediction
Currently on a five-match losing streak, Huddersfield really could do with a win to give themselves some reignited belief to take into next season but they need to cut out their defensive sloppiness which has been a massive issue in their last 14 games – during which they won just three games.
Leyton Orient meanwhile simply need to continue their winning form and with the confidence which they currently have after a clinical win over Wycombe, they really have to be seen as favourites if don’t let the pressure and nerves affect them.
Huddersfield though should have the quality to cause issues if they can improve defensively but on current form, I really do fancy Leyton Orient to get the job done.
Prediction: Huddersfield 1-2 Leyton Orient
