McLaren sit comfortably atop of the constructors’ championship with a 58-point lead over Mercedes but across in the drivers’ standings, Lando Norris heads teammate, Oscar Piastri by just three points but reigning champion – Max Verstappen and George Russell remain in hot pursuit.
This weekend marks a huge opportunity for all four drivers to further boost their title credentials on a difficult but quick street circuit, whilst building momentum to take into Miami then the European phase of the season.

Four Key Pointers
- McLaren should suit the fast-flowing nature of this circuit if can get their tricky rear end more stable in terms of balance on corner exits.
- Red Bull have strong form around this circuit but having struggled with both car balance and braking in Bahrain, they need to get on top of those issues if want to stand any chance of victory at a tough circuit in terms of braking.
- Haas need to sort out their Qualifying performance because they clearly have great race pace and could be pushing higher up the grid if can sort out their issues in Qualifying.
- Jeddah has often seen high track evolution in previous visits and with the prospect of unexpected red flags, track position will be key to nailing laps in Qualifying if wish to avoid an unexpected early exit.
Last Time Out
Verstappen dominated the race in F1’s visit to Jeddah in 2024 aside from five laps due to a safety car in which he lost the lead to Norris, before retaking control of the race on Lap 13 which he held to the checkered flag ahead of Sergio Perez in a Red Bull one-two finish.
The race though marked Oliver Bearman’s F1 debut after he replaced Carlos Sainz for medical reasons after Friday Practice, and the Brit finished seventh in a solid drive from 11th on the grid.
