2024-25 League One: Week 41 – Reading vs Wycombe

Reading host Wycombe in a huge League One showdown in the races for play-offs and promotion respectively.

Victory would lift Reading back up to sixth before Bolton play in the mid-afternoon kick-offs, whilst Wycombe can climb to second with a win before Wrexham play in mid-afternoon.

Team News

Reading could welcome Tyler Bindon back into contention after he missed their last two matches due to illness.

Wycombe will be without Finn Back, Bez Lubala (both unspecified) and Kieran Sadlier (hernia) due to long-term injury absences.

When is Kick-Off?

Reading host Wycombe at Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday 5 April at 12:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ Red Button in the UK.

Prediction

Blackpool hadn’t often been kind to Reading in recent visits but to lose 3-0 there in midweek would of been demoralising to some extent for the Royals given their form, but they must just reset and look to bounce back given their strong home form with one defeat in their last 11 on their own turf.

Wycombe though might of hit a mini rut lately but with seven points in their last three games, they do seem back to their best even despite a dominant but wasteful goalless draw against Shrewsbury in midweek, so a more polished final touch has to be on the agenda if they want to win here and put pressure back on Wrexham.

I however do feel that this will be a close competitive scrap with two teams desperate to get back on the winning trail, so a draw might well be the best call.

Prediction: Reading 1-1 Wycombe

Result: Reading 1-0 Wycombe
