2024-25 Sky Bet Championship: Week 37 – Wednesday

Leeds United look to return to winning ways in a tricky Championship encounter against Millwall.

Victory will return Leeds to the summit and move two points clear of Sheffield United, whilst Millwall can climb to tenth with a win if Watford fail to beat Swansea elsewhere.

Team News

Leeds have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-0 loss at Portsmouth last Sunday (9 March).

Ethan Ampadu, Max Wober (both knee) and Patrick Bamford (hamstring) remain ruled out.

Millwall have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 2-1 win at Watford.

Liam Roberts (suspension), Camiel Neghli (ankle), Macaulay Langstaff, Duncan Watmore (both unspecified), Calum Scanlon (hamstring), Danny McNamara (knee) and Ryan Leonard (calf) remain ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Leeds host Millwall on Wednesday 12 March at Elland Road in a 7:45pm GMT kick-off, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Leeds have won three of their last five meetings against Millwall (W3, L2).
  • Millwall have won one of their last eight league visits to Leeds (W1, L8).
  • Alex Neil’s Lions are looking to win three consecutive matches against Leeds in all competitions for the first time since a four-match streak from November 1987 – November 1988.
  • Leeds have kept clean sheets in three of their last five home matches in the league (W4, D1).
  • Josh Coburn has scored in each of Millwall’s last two away games in the second-tier (W2).

Prediction

With their unbeaten league run now over after a sloppy display at Portsmouth where their sharp end product was simply absent, Leeds must now reset and this is an ideal fixture given their home record over Millwall – aside from their FA Cup loss to the Lions last month.

Millwall though will be eager to achieve three victories over Daniel Farke’s Whites in a single season and are unbeaten in four of their last five league games, having clinically come from behind to beat Watford but they will need to be even stronger defensively if want a result here.

I however expect Leeds to come out and produce a strong reaction to atone for their disappointment at Fratton Park and unless Millwall defend resiliently, I can see the hosts winning this pretty comfortably.

Prediction: Leeds 2-0 Millwall

Result: Leeds 2-0 Millwall
