Stockport County host Charlton Athletic in a crucial League One encounter at Edgeley Park.
Victory will see Stockport remain in fourth position and move to three points of second-placed Wycombe who play in the mid-afternoon kick-offs.
Charlton will leapfrog their hosts into fourth with a win.
Team News
Stockport have no fresh injury issues to report following their 1-1 draw at Northampton in midweek.
Charlton could be without Tyreece Campbell after he was substituted in their 1-0 home win over Barnsley with a minor knock, although manager – Nathan Jones since confirmed that he expects the player to be available.
When is Kick-Off?
Stockport host Charlton at Edgeley Park on Saturday 8 March at 12:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Stockport are winless in their last five league meetings against Charlton (D1, L4).
- Charlton have won two of their three previous league visits to Stockport (W2, L1).
- Stockport have scored in all three league matches at home to Charlton, in which they scored and conceded five goals apiece.
- Stockport have kept clean sheets in two of their last four league matches at home (W4).
- Macaulay Gillesphey has scored in three of Charlton’s last five matches.
Prediction
Currently holding an outside chance of automatic promotion, Stockport can’t really afford many slip-ups between now and end of season but they must be more consistent than they were at Northampton, as they looked second-best at times but to snatch a draw could be important come May.
Charlton meanwhile have lost one of their last ten league matches and dug deep with a clinical if gutsy win over Barnsley but they might just need to do the same here if want to boost their play-off ambitions, although they failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five away trips.
Throw in the fact that this is a high-stakes clash then I do expect a close battle and a draw wouldn’t be the least surprising outcome.
Prediction: Stockport County 1-1 Charlton
Result: Stockport County 0-0 Charlton
