ART GP have re-signed Victor Martins for the 2025 FIA F2 season.
Martins has spent the last three seasons with ART which saw him win the 2022 F3 title with the French team, before he finished fifth and rookie of the year in his debut F2 season in 2023 in which he took one win and eight further podium finishes.
2024 however proved much tougher as ART struggled to adapt quickly to the new F2-spec car which saw Martins take just one win en-route to seventh in the drivers’ standings.
ART GP now have opted to retain Martins for a third season with the 23 year-old Frenchman now “very excited” to continue in F2 with the team, with the title now their immediate ambition for this season.
“We share a common goal: doing everything we can to win the title. I’m surrounded by the best people to achieve my ultimate dream—Formula 1.
“This winter, we worked extensively on all the areas we needed to improve from 2024, and now we’re ready to turn those efforts into results on track. The season is starting, and it’s time to focus on testing in Barcelona.”
ART GP Team Principal, Sebastien Philippe added that the team had been determined to retain Martins despite the late announcement, with pre-season testing set to commence next week from 24-26 February at Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain.
“Continuing with Victor in 2025 was an obvious choice. We have a long history together, marked by successes and challenges overcome as a team. He has proven he has the speed and talent to compete at the front in Formula 2.
“This season needs to be the one where everything comes together, and we will do everything we can to help him achieve his goals.”
Martins will partner Ritomo Miyata who has moved across from Rodin for his second season in the category.
