Portsmouth host Millwall at Fratton Park in a rearranged Championship clash.
Victory will lift Portsmouth up to 18th in the table and five points above the relegation zone, whilst Millwall can climb to 14th with a win.
Team News
Portsmouth have no fresh injury concerns following their 5-1 loss at West Brom last weekend.
Conor Shaughnessy (calf), Regan Poole (hamstring), Mark O’Mahony (muscle), Ibane Bowat, Kusini Yengi, Paddy Lane and Jacob Farrell (all knee) remain sidelined.
Millwall could be without Lukas Jensen (unspecified) and Calum Scanlon (hamstring) after the pair went off injured in their 1-0 win at Luton.
Danny McNamara (knee) and Ryan Leonard (calf) remain ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Portsmouth host Millwall at Fratton Park on Tuesday 28 January at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports + in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Portsmouth have lost two of their last seven league meetings against Millwall (W4, D1, L2).
- Millwall have claimed seven points in their last five league visits to Portsmouth (W2, D1, L2).
- Both Portsmouth and Millwall have recorded 1-0 wins in two of their last three league meetings at Fratton Park, whilst they drew 1-1 in the other clash.
- Portsmouth are unbeaten in their last seven home games (W6, D1).
- Victory would see Millwall record consecutive away wins for the first time since April-May 2024.
Prediction
With the majority of their points having been earned at home this season, Portsmouth need to put their awful defensive mess at West Brom behind them and bounce back with another attacking display which has suited them on their own turf in recent months.
Millwall meanwhile haven’t exactly found consistency yet under Alex Neil but after snatching a clinical if scrappy low-quality win at Luton last weekend, the Lions now need to kick on and start to put a run together if want to reignite their push for the play-off placings.
Either way this should be an interesting game if Portsmouth can quickly turn on their home momentum but Millwall bring better attacking quality, which should probably mean a 1-1 draw is on the cards but I am going for a home win if the hosts are at their best.
Prediction: Portsmouth 2-1 Millwall
Result: Portsmouth 0-1 Millwall
