2024-25 Sky Bet Championship: Week 29 – Monday

Burnley meet Leeds at Turf Moor in a blockbuster top of Championship encounter.

Victory will lift Burnley up to second unless they win by a margin of four goals or more, which would then see them go top on goal difference.

Leeds will stay top if avoid a heavy loss of four goals or more although a win would move them four points clear of second-placed Sheffield United.

Team News

Burnley have no fresh injury issues to report following a dominant 5-0 midweek win at Plymouth.

Manuel Benson, Nathan Redmond (both calf), Jordan Beyer and Aaron Ramsey (both knee) are still ruled out.

Leeds have no fresh injury concerns to report following their midweek win over Norwich as Pascal Struijk and Patrick Bamford remain sidelined with hamstring injuries.

When is Kick-Off?

Burnley host Leeds at Turf Moor on Monday 27 January at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Having absolutely thumped Plymouth in a dominant first-half display en-route to a dominant win and in strong defensive form, Burnley can come into this game with a real belief that they can get a huge result if continue to play as clinically as they’ve done.

Leeds though are unbeaten in their last 11 games in all competitions but were made to grind out a clinically dominant win over Norwich, which might stand them in good stead because they won’t have it their own way against Burnley’s resilient defence.

Nevertheless I do expect a fiercely close if tight and cagey battle between two in-form teams and given the hype around this fixture, it wouldn’t be surprising if this ends in a point apiece.

Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Leeds

Result: Burnley 0-0 Leeds
