Relegation battling Wolves meet title chasing Arsenal in a Premier League contest at Molineux.
Victory would see Wolves stay out of the relegation zone unless Ipswich win at Liverpool by a huge margin enough to swing the goal difference in their favour.
Arsenal will stay second with a win and could move to within three points of the summit if Liverpool lose to Ipswich.
Team News
Toti Gomes could return for Wolves following his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Mario Lemina (personal), Yerson Mosquera, Boubacar Traore (both knee), Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez (both ACL) remain sidelined.
Arsenal could be without Myles Lewis-Skelly after he suffered a knee injury in their midweek Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb.
William Saliba (hamstring) faces a late fitness test but Bukayo Saka (hamstring), Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White (all knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Wolves host Arsenal at Molineux on Saturday 25 January at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Wolves have lost their last seven meetings against Arsenal (L7).
- Arsenal have won four of their last five league visits to Wolves (W4, L1).
- The Gunners have kept clean sheets in each of their last six away wins at Wolves dating back to November 2010.
- No Wolves player this season has made more clearances than Toti Gomes (65).
- No Arsenal player this season has been caught offside on more occasions than Kai Havertz (13).
Prediction
With no wins in their last four league matches, Wolves’ honeymoon period under Vitor Pereira is definitely over after a lacklustre loss at Chelsea, where set-pieces were their downfall which is a huge worry because that probably is their best hope coming into this game if want a result.
Arsenal meanwhile should believe that a win here is extremely achievable after a clinical midweek win over Dinamo Zagreb in Europe, even if they did make hard work of the result at times especially in the first half with wasteful finishing but the performance is a confidence boost.
With that in mind, I can’t see Arsenal losing this if they turn up with the same work ethic and quality especially given Wolves’ recent dip in quality again.
Prediction: Wolves 0-2 Arsenal
Result: Wolves 0-1 Arsenal
