Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder, Julio Enciso has joined Ipswich Town on loan for the remainder of 2024-25 season.

Enciso has scored just one goal in 16 appearances across all competitions this season for Brighton, which led him to request a loan move in search of more game time which the club duly accepted with the Argentinean joining Ipswich who are battling for Premier League survival.

“I am so happy to be here,” commented the 21 year-old in his first interview with TownTV as he explained how Ipswich manager, Kieran McKenna showed belief in him by making a loan move for him until the end of the season.

“The conversations with the Manager have been good. I am very grateful to him and the Club for believing in me. I can’t wait to get going.

“I’m a real fighter and I will do my best in every game.”

Brighton Head Coach, Fabian Hürzeler added that the loan deal suits everyone as he iterated that Enciso isn’t guaranteed regular playing time at the AMEX Stadium.

“Julio wants to play regularly, and that is not something we can guarantee with so many options in our attacking positions.

“Ipswich have offered Julio the possibility of more regular game time, and the move is the right one for all concerned.

Hürzeler however hasn’t ruled Enciso out of his long-term plans as he concluded: “We will keep a close eye on his progress as the season continues, and we wish him well for his time with Ipswich.”

Enciso could make his debut for Ipswich away at Liverpool on Saturday 25 January.
