Sheffield United host Hull City in a huge Championship clash at opposite ends of the table.

Victory will see Sheffield Utd go top until at least Monday (27 January) evening, whilst Hull can climb out of the relegation zone and up to 18th with a win.

Team News

Gustavo Hamer is suspended for Sheffield Utd following his tenth booking of the season.

Oliver Arblaster (ACL), Kieffer Moore (hernia) and Tom Davies (unspecified) remain absent.

Hull have no fresh injury concerns to report following their midweek loss to QPR.

Mohamed Belloumi, Liam Millar (both ACL), Lewie Coyle, Kasey Palmer (both ankle), Charlie Hughes (hamstring) and Ryan Longman (personal) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Sheffield Utd host Hull at Bramall Lane on Friday 24 January at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

After digging deep for a clinical second-half comeback win at Swansea, Sheffield Utd should feel confident coming into this home game where they have the firepower capable of troubling Hull’s leaky defence, but they can’t start as sluggish as they did on Tuesday.

Hull meanwhile weren’t just clinical enough in their loss to QPR despite being the slightly more dominant attacking side so defensive improvement is a must if want a result here, especially given their poor form in recent meetings against the Blades.

I however just can’t see them getting anything here if Sheffield Utd bring their best game but Hull really need to find more goals if want to boost their chances of staying up, so a goal here would help even if it is a tough ask given that they failed to score in their last three visits.

Prediction: Sheffield Utd 2-0 Hull

Result: Sheffield Utd 0-3 Hull
