Sebastian Montoya has graduated to F2 with PREMA for the 2025 season.
Montoya has spent the last two seasons in F3 with Hitech GP then Campos during which he only managed two podiums, albeit with 16th and 17th-placed championship finishes respectively.
The move sees a “very excited” Montoya reunite with PREMA for the first time since 2022 when he drove in FRECA, having worked with the Italian team in ADAC F4 and Italian F4 across 2020-21 seasons.
“It was the first team I worked with and that makes it very cool to see how they evolved. It is one of the best teams in feeder series racing and now in the world.
“I’m delighted to join forces with them again and cannot wait to get started.”
Team Principal, Rene Rosin is pleased to welcome Montoya back to the team but is confident that he can adapt to F2 machinery.
“It’s great to be working with Sebastian again. We really enjoyed the collaboration in Formula 4 and Formula Regional, and heading into the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship, we are sure there is good potential to be put to fruition.
“The step to F2 is never easy, but we are determined to prepare well together at home and in testing and build on that.”
