2024-25 Sky Bet Championship: Week 20 – Wednesday

Millwall host Sheffield United in a Sky Bet Championship encounter at The Den.

Victory will lift Millwall up to ninth in the table, whilst Sheffield United can return to the summit with a win.

Team News

Ryan Leonard is suspended for Millwall following his fifth booking of the season in their loss to Coventry.

Shaun Hutchinson (hamstring), Romain Esse (groin) and Josh Coburn (foot) are doubts but Jake Cooper (knee) is ruled out.

Sheffield Utd will welcome Kieffer Moore back from a calf injury.

Harry Souttar and Anel Ahmedhodzic are back from suspension, but Tyrese Campbell is a doubt due to a back injury.

Oliver Arblaster (ACL) remains absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Millwall host Sheffield Utd at The Den on Wednesday 11 December at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports + in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Millwall have lost one of their last five league meetings against Sheffield Utd (W3, D1, L1).
  • Sheffield Utd have won one of their last six league visits to Millwall (W1, L5).
  • Millwall have kept just one clean sheet in their last five league matches at home to Sheffield Utd.
  • Each of Millwall’s last five bookings at home came in the second half.
  • Sheffield Utd have drawn both of their last two away matches by a 2-2 result.

Prediction

Coming into this game off the back of their loss to Coventry and Neil Harris announcing his upcoming exit, Millwall need to be more clinical in their end product after they managed no shots on target last weekend.

Sheffield Utd should probably be happy with their 2-2 draw at West Brom given the difficult conditions, but they need to be more defensive given their firepower although The Den is bit of a bogey ground for them in the league.

Millwall though will be right up for this not wanting just a positive reaction but also a final home win under Harris, which should make for a good battle and another draw might be a solid result for the Blades given recent league visits.

Prediction: Millwall 1-1 Sheffield Utd

Result: Millwall 0-1 Sheffield Utd
