Brentford host Newcastle United at Gtech Community Stadium in a mid-table Premier League clash.
Currently locked on 20 points apiece in 11th and 12th positions respectively, victory will see either Brentford or Newcastle climb into the top ten.
Team News
Christian Norgaard is a doubt for Brentford after he missed their 3-1 midweek loss at Aston Villa.
Kristoffer Ajer (foot) could return but Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry (both knee), Gustavo Nunes (back), Matias Jensen and Aaron Hickey (both hamstring) remain sidelined.
Newcastle could be without Kieran Trippier after he missed their midweek 3-3 draw at home to Liverpool, due to illness.
Emil Krafth (shoulder), Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles (both knee) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Brentford face Newcastle at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 7 December at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Brentford are winless in six previous Premier League meetings against Newcastle (D1, L5).
- Newcastle have won all three previous Premier League visits to Brentford (W3).
- Newcastle’s Alexander Isak has scored in his two previous away appearances against Brentford.
- Yoane Wissa has scored five goals in Brentford’s last three home games (W3).
- Fabian Schar has produced more passes this season than any other Newcastle player (694).
Prediction
Although their away woes continued at Villa, Brentford will be relishing this game given their home form but they must be more solid defensively when defending against quick counter-attacks yet show more sharper end product.
Newcastle meanwhile were superb on the counter-attack against Liverpool with solid first-half defending, which went quite sloppy in the second half underlining a need for improvement as the Bees have the quality to cause similar issues.
Eddie Howe’s Magpies though are unbeaten against Brentford in the Premier League but winless in London this season, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being a surprise cracker.
Prediction: Brentford 2-2 Newcastle
Result: Brentford 4-2 Newcastle
