Swindon meet Morecambe at the County Ground in a blockbuster League Two showdown.
Victory would see Swindon climb to 21st if Colchester lose at Grimsby in the lunchtime kick-off, although 20th position might not be out of reach if Bromley loses heavily at Salford.
Morecambe can move off the foot of the table with a win if Carlisle fail to beat Doncaster.
Team News
Grant Hall is available for Swindon following his three-match ban after he was sent off in last month’s 1-1 draw at home to Gillingham.
Morecambe will be without Gwion Edwards after he suffered an ankle injury in their loss to Port Vale.
Stuart Moore (hip) is also ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Swindon host Morecambe at the County Ground on Saturday 23 November at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Swindon have won six of nine previous league meetings against Morecambe (W6, D3).
- Morecambe are winless in five previous league visits to Swindon (D2, L3).
- Swindon have never suffered defeat to Morecambe in all competitions (W7, D3).
- Harry Smith has scored in each of Swindon’s last five league games (D2, L3).
- Two of Ben Tollitt’s four league goals for Morecambe this season were scored on the Shrimps’ travels.
Prediction
Although victories have proven difficult to come by in the fourth-tier this season, Swindon certainly know how to grind out draws amidst their defensive issues.
This game though is one which they must view as winnable especially with Smith in hot goalscoring form, but they must improve defensively if want to boost their survival hopes.
Morecambe’s defence though is just as bad whilst their attack has fewer goals but they have seven points from their last four away games, which will give them confidence coming into a must-win game in their fight to stay up.
Neither team therefore can’t really to lose here especially Morecambe who could be five points adrift if results elsewhere go against them, but my instinct is that Swindon will just have enough for the win.
Prediction: Swindon 2-1 Morecambe
Result: Swindon 2-3 Morecambe
