Turkey host Wales in a top of 2024-25 UEFA Nations League B4 clash.
Victory will see Turkey secure automatic promotion with a game to spare, but Wales can displace their hosts with a win and go top with promotion placed in their own hands.
Team News
Turkey will be without defenders, Ferdi Kadioglu (toe) and Caglar Soyuncu (unspecified) due to injury, with Eren Dinkci and Yasin Ozcan called up as replacements.
Wales will be without defender, Owen Beck after the youngster withdrew due to a back injury.
Wes Burns (knock), Nathan Broadhead (groin) and Kieffer Moore (calf) have also withdrawn from the squad.
When is Kick-Off?
Turkey host Wales at Kadir Has Stadium, Kayseri, on Saturday 16 November at 6pm CET (5pm UK Time), live on S4C and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Turkey drew 0-0 away to Wales in their first UEFA Nations League meeting.
- Wales have won one of four previous away trips to Turkey (W1, L3).
- Turkey have never been held to two consecutive goalless draws against Wales in all competitions.
- Irfan Kahveci has scored in each of Turkey’s last two matches (W2).
- Harry Wilson has scored in each of Wales’ last three matches (W2, D1).
Prediction
On cusp of promotion and with home advantage plus unbeaten in the group, Turkey know that this is theirs to lose in these last two group games so they just need to let their attacking flair shine but be wary of Wales’ pace on the attack.
Wales meanwhile are missing three quality forwards but this is a chance for others to step up, especially Harry Wilson who is currently in form and will be one of their key threats if given the right service.
I however just can’t see Wales winning here given their poor away form in Turkey but they should at least give the Turkish a competitive fight.
Prediction: Turkey 2-1 Wales
Result: Turkey 0-0 Wales
