2024-25 Premier League: Week 11 – Forest vs Newcastle

Nottingham Forest host Newcastle United at the City Ground in a massive Premier League encounter.

Victory would see Forest stay third going into the international break, whilst Newcastle can climb to ninth if Tottenham loses elsewhere.

 

Team News

James Ward-Prowse is available for Forest after he was ineligible to feature in their 3-0 win over his parent club – West Ham.

Ibrahim Sangare (hamstring) and Danilo (ankle) remain sidelined.

Newcastle could welcome Jacob Murphy back from a hamstring injury, which kept him out of their win over Arsenal last weekend.

Matt Targett (illness) is a doubt but Callum Wilson (back), Kieran Trippier (hamstring), Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles (both knee) remain absent.

Prediction

Sat third at the start of this matchweek following a clinically ruthless and well-controlled win over a tame West Ham, Forest must try and continue to play a similar game but be wary of Newcastle’s tougher quality.

Eddie Howe’s Magpies meanwhile were clinical and energetic in their win over Arsenal but crucially well-organised defensively, which is needed here if want to silence and isolate Wood.

Newcastle also have travelled well at Forest in the Premier League plus live on Sky this season, but I do see them facing a much harder test with this ending in a draw.
