2024-25 Sky Bet Championship: Week 14 – Thursday

West Brom host Burnley at The Hawthorns in a huge Championship clash in the race for promotion.

Victory would see West Brom climb to fourth, whilst Burnley will stay fourth if avoid defeat unless they win by three or more goals.

Team News

West Brom have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 1-1 draw at Luton.

Semi Ajayi, Paddy McNair (both hamstring), Kyle Bartley (knee) and Daryl Dike (Achilles) remain sidelined.

Burnley will welcome Zian Flemming back into contention after he was ineligible for their 1-0 loss at Millwall.

Joe Worrall (foot), Lyle Foster, Nathan Redmond (knee), Manuel Benson (calf), Mike Tresor (leg), Hannes Delcroix, Hjalmar Ekdal (muscle), Jordan Beyer (hamstring) and Aaron Ramsay (ACL) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

West Brom meet Burnley at The Hawthorns on Thursday 7 November at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • West Brom are winless in their last five meetings against Burnley (D3, L2).
  • Burnley have won one of their last five visits to West Brom (W1, D2, L2).
  • West Brom have kept clean sheets in three of their last five home games against Burnley.
  • Carlos Corberan’s Baggies have failed to score in their last three home matches (D2, L1).
  • Burnley have won one of their last four away matches (W1, D2, L1).

Prediction

Winless in seven but having grinded out draws in their last seven games, West Brom are a difficult team to beat even when not winning and that is a key weapon coming into this tricky clash where both teams have strong quality.

Burnley though are on a similar run in their last five but they were simply outclassed at a stubborn Millwall, so this is their chance to produce a reaction and quickly find their clinical edge again.

I however do feel that this is too close to call so am going for a draw.

Prediction: WBA 1-1 Burnley

Result: WBA 0-0 Burnley
