Aston Martin have confirmed that development driver, Jak Crawford will drive in the 2024 F1 Young Drivers’ Test.

The post-season test will take place in Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina Circuit following the season finale, with Crawford nominated as Aston Martin’s young driver for the occasion.

I’m excited about the opportunity of driving the AMR24 for the first time in Abu Dhabi.

“I’ve spent lots of hours on the simulator back at the AMR Technology Campus, and I will be continuing this ahead of the test to make sure I am well prepared.”

Crawford currently lies fifth in F2 and will stay in the category with DAMS next season, with the current campaign set to finish in Abu Dhabi on Sunday 8 December leaving the 19 year-old aware of the circuit from his F2 trip last year.

“Yas Marina is a circuit I know well, so hopefully this will help me get up to speed quickly.

“I would like to say a big thanks to everyone at Aston Martin Aramco for the chance to drive this year’s car in the test.”

Aston Martin’s Team Principal, Mike Krack added that Crawford has earned his opportunity through previous test work with the team this season.

“He’s already shown a high level of understanding in previous tests with us this year and I know he will be working hard in preparation for the test alongside competing in the final two rounds of the F2 Championship.”
