Brentford Head Coach, Thomas Frank praised his players for delivering a “wow… wow” 5-3 win over Wolves.

Nathan Collins’ header and Bryan Mbeumo’s penalty put the Bees ahead either side of Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen’s equalisers, before Christian Norgaard, Ethan Pinnock and Fabio Carvalho sealed victory.

Rayan Ait-Nouri however struck an injury-time goal for Wolves to wrap up a Premier League classic.

Reflecting post-match on the eight-goal thriller, Frank comically praised his team for their entertainment value, but was seriously happy with their attacking effort amidst some sloppy defending.

“Everything for the fans, huh? It’s all about entertainment!

“But, no, our offensive performance today: wow… wow. It looked like we would score a goal every time we went forward and every time we had a set-piece! I was very pleased with that part of our game.

“The fact we did that without Yoane Wissa and Igor Thiago – our No.9s or main goalscorers – is even more impressive.

“We should defend a bit better in certain situations: the first one definitely, the third one maybe, the second one was good play from Wolves.”

With Brentford now on a fortnight break due to this month’s international football ahead of a trip to Manchester United on 19 October, Frank is happy with their points haul and place in the Carabao Cup’s Fourth Round.

“But we’re on 10 points, we’re in the next round of the Carabao Cup, and we want to keep on pushing.”

Defender, Ethan Pinnock added that the Bees had performed “really well,” but iterated that defending and consistent ball control need work.

“We limited them and what we gave away, they punished us for. That’s something we’ve got to look at.

“We had good control in spells. Going forward we were creative and made the most of our chances.”
