Slovan Bratislava host Manchester City at Tehelne Pole as both teams chase a first win in the Champions League’s league phase.
Victory could lift Bratislava into the knockout play-off placings, whilst Man City could climb into the top eight with a win if results swing their way.
Team News
Bratislava could be without Kenan Bajric due to an unspecified injury but Lukas Pauschek (shoulder) is ruled out.
Man City have no fresh injury worries after their 1-1 draw at Newcastle in the Premier League.
Nathan Ake (thigh), Rodri (knee), Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring) and Oscar Bobb (leg) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Slovan Bratislava host Man City at Tehelne Pole on Tuesday 1 October at 8pm UK Time, live on TNT Sport 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Slovan Bratislava’s first meeting against Man City in all competitions.
- Man City are visiting Slovan Bratislava for the first time across all UEFA competitions.
- Bratislava have lost just two of six previous home matches against English opposition in all competitions (W2, D2, L2).
- Man City are facing Slovakian competition for the first time in their history.
Prediction
After an embarrassing 5-1 loss at Celtic a fortnight ago, Bratislava need to step it up defensively if want a result because they’re not likely to get many attacking chances.
City though were pretty wasteful at Newcastle and often found themselves defending against a bold attacking press, especially given their strong record against the Magpies but this is a chance to reset and rediscover their stride.
I however just can’t see Man City losing this barring an uncharacteristic performance, so it’s a question of how many they can score particularly ahead of a tricky domestic clash against in-form Fulham on Saturday.
Prediction: Slovan Bratislava 0-3 Manchester City
Result: Slovan Bratislava 0-4 Manchester City
