2024-25 Premier League: Week Six – Wolves vs Liverpool

Wolves host Premier League title-chasing Liverpool at Molineux.

Victory could see Wolves climb out of the relegation zone, whilst Liverpool could go top with a win if Manchester City lose in the lunchtime kick-off.

Team News

Yerson Mosquera is ruled out indefinitely for Wolves after he suffered MCL and ACL injuries in a 3-1 loss at Aston Villa last weekend.

Toti Gomes (hamstring) could return but Bastien Meupiyou (unspecified), Boubacar Traore (knee), Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez (both ACL) remain sidelined.

Liverpool could welcome goalkeeper, Alisson back from a muscle injury.

Harvey Elliott (ankle) remains ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Liverpool at Molineux on Saturday 28 September at 5:30pm BST,  live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Without a league win since late April, Wolves certainly need to sort out their defending because their lack of defensive marking cost them at Villa after working so hard to score first amidst wasted chances.

Liverpool meanwhile were simply clinical in their midweek Carabao Cup comeback against West Ham, which really shows how well they have adapted to Arne Slot’s style and I expect another aggressive performance here.

In fact, I don’t see Wolves getting a result but the loss will depend on how well they defend, because this is surely Liverpool’s to lose.

Prediction: Wolves 0-2 Liverpool

Result: Wolves 1-2 Liverpool
