Manchester United host FC Twente at Old Trafford in the league phase of 2024-25 UEFA Europa League.
Victory could put Utd or Twente top depending upon results elsewhere on the opening night of the new league phase format.
Team News
Man Utd have no fresh injury concerns following their goalless draw at Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Leny Yoro (ankle), Victor Lindelöf (knock), Tyrell Malacia (knee) and Luke Shaw (calf) remain absent.
Twente have no fresh injury concerns but Michal Sadilek and Younes Taha are both ruled out with leg injuries.
When is Kick-Off?
Man Utd host Twente at Old Trafford on Wednesday 25 September at 8pm BST, live on TNT Sport 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Man Utd’s first meeting against FC Twente in all competitions.
- Twente are making their first competitive trip to Man Utd at Old Trafford across all competitions.
- Man Utd have lost just one of five home games against Dutch opposition (W3, D1, L1).
- Twente are winless in their seven previous away games against English opposition (D2, L5).
Prediction
Despite their dominance on the ball and in attack, Man Utd were simply wasteful at Palace but are yet to concede since the international break, which is a huge positive for a team under scrutiny from their own fans.
Twente meanwhile can’t be underestimated because whilst they leak goals, they have scored in every game this season and kept clean sheets in their last two fixtures, with midfielder, Sem Steijn looking a potential handful.
Utd’s defence therefore realistically need to try and isolate Steijn if wish to stifle Twente’s attacking threat, otherwise I can see Twente causing some issues and nicking a point.
Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Twente
Result: Manchester United 1-1 Twente
