2024-25 Premier League: Week Five – Brighton vs Forest

Brighton & Hove Albion host Nottingham Forest at AMEX Stadium in a Premier League contest.

Victory will see Brighton climb to fourth in the table, whilst Forest likewise can go fourth themselves with a win.

Team News

Joao Pedro is a doubt after he missed Brighton’s last two matches with a knock.

Brajan Gruda (knock), James Milner (hamstring), Solly March (knee) and Matt O’Riley (ankle) remain absent.

Forest have no fresh injury concerns to report following their win at Liverpool last weekend.

Willy Boly (calf), Ibrahim Sangare (hamstring) and Danilo (ankle) remain sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Brighton host Forest at AMEX Stadium on Sunday 22 September at 2pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Brighton have lost one of four previous Premier League meetings against Forest (W2, D1, L1).
  • Forest are yet to win away to Brighton in the Premier League (D1, L1).
  • Brighton are yet to concede at home to Forest in the Premier League.
  • In Brighton’s first four league matches of the season, no player created more touches than Lewis Dunk (372).
  • In Forest’s first four league matches of the season, no player created more interceptions than Ola Aina (9).

Prediction

Despite enjoying strong start and end periods to their Carabao Cup win over Wolves, Brighton need to now try and maintain that consistency throughout rather than go sloppy mid-way through especially when playing out from defence.

Forest meanwhile were absolutely clinical in their counter-attacking win at Liverpool so I wouldn’t be surprised if they try the same here, especially after seeing how Ipswich held Brighton with a similar approach last weekend.

I however do see Forest bringing more attack here which could certainly give Brighton some headaches and given how both teams have started, I can see both teams digging deep for a draw.

Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Result: Brighton 2-2 Nottingham Forest
