2024-25 Premier League: Week Five – Leicester vs Everton

Winless Leicester and Everton collide in a Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.

Depending upon results elsewhere, Leicester can climb as high as 11th with victory.

Everton meanwhile can climb out of the relegation zone with a win.

Team News

Odsonne Edouard could make his debut for Leicester after he was ineligible to feature in their 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace, due to having joined on loan from the Eagles.

Jakub Stolarczyk and Patson Daka (both ankle) remain sidelined.

Everton could welcome Vitaliy Mykolenko, James Garner, Dominic Calvert-Lewin back from illness, which forced the trio to miss their Carabao Cup exit against Southampton in midweek.

James Tarkowski (back) and Michael Keane (knock) are doubts for selection.

Idrissa Gueye is ruled out for personal reasons.

Seamus Coleman (ankle), Nathan Patterson (hamstring), Jarrad Branthwaite (groin), Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti (both foot) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Leicester host Everton at King Power Stadium on Saturday 21 September, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Following a strong clinical performance at Palace despite blowing a 2-0 lead, Leicester need to take heart from how they attacked that game with composure but getting the win was always a tough ask against a strong pressing team.

Everton meanwhile just really need some sort of result to kick-start their season after they blew a 2-0 lead at Aston Villa to lose 3-2, then lost to Southampton in the Carabao Cup on penalties after initially taking the lead.

Sean Dyche though does need Branthwaite back asap to stabilise his defence because if Keane and Tarkowski aren’t available, I don’t see them getting anything here against an improving Leicester attack.

Neither team however can’t hold onto a lead at the minute so I expect this to be a scrappy game full of defensive mistakes, but Leicester really should view this as an winnable opportunity.

Prediction: Leicester 2-1 Everton

Result: Leicester 1-1 Everton
