2024-25 Carabao Cup: Third Round – Brentford vs Leyton Orient

Brentford host Leyton Orient at Gtech Community Stadium in the Third Round of 2024-25 Carabao Cup.

Victory would see Brentford progress beyond this stage for the first time in three seasons, whilst a win would see Orient reach the fourth round for the first time in 62 years.

Prediction

Following a tough defeat at Man City despite having enjoyed a dominant start to that game, this is a chance for Brentford to bounce back if can be more clinical but I can see squad rotation with some youngsters having a runout.

Orient meanwhile haven’t exactly started the season well aside from this competition but delivered a clinical win at Reading on Saturday, which has to be a turning point and they won’t fear the Bees as underdogs with their high-pressing attack.

Now if Thomas Frank’s Bees can soak up the pressure and let their better quality eventually break through, I can see just one result coming but Orient won’t make this easy in a London derby.

Prediction: Brentford 2-0 Leyton Orient

Result: Brentford 3-1 Leyton Orient
