2024-25 League One: Week Six – Birmingham vs Wrexham

Birmingham City entertain Wrexham at St Andrew’s Stadium in a mouth-watering League One matchup.

Victory would see Birmingham climb to second, whilst Wrexham will stay top regardless of the result unless they lose by four goals or more.

Team News

Keshi Anderson could return for Birmingham after he missed their last two matches through injury.

Dion Sanderson (unspecified), Lee Buchanan (calf), Ethan Laird and Luke Harris (both ankle) remain absent.

Wrexham have no fresh injury concerns with defender, Jacob Mendy still sidelined due to a hamstring injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Birmingham host Wrexham at St Andrew’s Stadium on Monday 16 September at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Although they’ve enjoyed a bright start especially with Alfie May in hot form, Birmingham’s defence was their Achilles heel in their four opening league games so they will need to be more solid if want the win.

Wrexham likewise are unbeaten but they will certainly do have the momentum and confidence with four clean sheets, so they really can’t be underestimated here because they do seem to have already adapted seamlessly to this tier.

On that note, I don’t see Birmingham getting a clean sheet and this could come down to whichever team is more clinical, otherwise a draw is on the cards.

Prediction: Birmingham City 1-1 Wrexham

Result: Birmingham City 3-1 Wrexham
