Portsmouth host West Bromwich Albion in a Championship clash at Fratton Park.
Victory would lift Portsmouth out of the relegation zone and up to 12th in the table, whilst West Brom can go top with a win.
Team News
Portsmouth have no fresh injury concerns to report as Jacob Farrell (knee), Tom McIntyre, Josh Murphy (both ankle) and Regan Poole (ACL) near first-team returns.
West Brom too have no fresh injury concerns to report as Grady Diangana returns from a shoulder injury.
Daryll Dike (Achilles) remains sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Portsmouth host West Brom at Fratton Park on Sunday 15 September at 3pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Portsmouth have won one of their last five league meetings against West Brom (W1, D2, L2).
- West Brom are unbeaten in three of their last five visits to Portsmouth (W2, D1, L2).
- Both teams have scored in three of their last four league meetings at Fratton Park.
- Portsmouth have kept one clean sheet in four league matches this season (D3, L1).
- All four of Josh Maja’s goals for West Brom this season have been scored away from home.
Prediction
Although they’re winless, Portsmouth certainly haven’t been short of goals so hopefully those not on international duty have worked on their defending, particularly because West Brom will be a similar test akin to Sunderland in quality.
Carlos Corberan’s Baggies meanwhile are yet to lose a league match this season but are yet to keep a clean sheet on the road this season, which is a slight concern but this is a huge chance to go top if they turn up and deliver their top game.
Portsmouth though are a gutsy team but unless their defending has improved, I am going for an away win.
Prediction: Portsmouth 1-2 WBA
Result: Portsmouth 0-3 WBA
