2024-25 Premier League: Week Four – Wolves vs Newcastle

Wolves host top-five chasing Newcastle United at Molineux.

Victory would see Wolves climb to 15th in the table, whilst a win could lift Newcastle up to second if Arsenal fail to win in the mid-afternoon kick-off.

Team News

Rayan Ait Nouri and Mario Lemina are doubts for Wolves after picking up knocks during the international break.

Yerson Mosquera (calf) is also doubtful for selection and faces a late fitness test.

Boubacar Traore (knee), Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez (both ACL) remain sidelined.

Newcastle could be without defender, Emil Krafth after he suffered a knock in the international break.

Joe Willock (knock) and Fabian Schar (suspension) are in contention to return to the matchday squad.

Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles (both knee), Lewis Miley (metatarsal) and Callum Wilson (back) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Newcastle at Molineux in a 4:30pm BST kick-off on Sunday 15 September, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

Prediction

With just one point from their first three league matches, Wolves have endured a slow start to the season but now need to build upon a positive attacking display from their 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle meanwhile seem to have rediscovered their spark of two seasons ago which showed in a dominant home win over Tottenham, even if they were wasteful at times so I would like to see more composure but they have to be favourites here.

Molineux though has often been a tricky place for Newcastle to visit and with Wolves refreshed following the break, I do expect a tough battle if the visitors’ away issues flare up otherwise Eddie Howe’s Magpies could edge this game.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Newcastle

Result: Wolves 1-2 Newcastle
