2024-25 Premier League: Week Four – Brighton vs Ipswich

Brighton & Hove Albion host a winless Ipswich Town at AMEX Stadium.

Victory could see Brighton go top if Liverpool and Manchester City both lose elsewhere.

Ipswich meanwhile can stay out of the relegation zone and potentially move three points clear of the drop with a win.

Team News

James Milner is ruled out for Brighton after he suffered a hamstring injury in their 1-1 draw at Arsenal.

Ferdi Kadioglu (muscle), Mats Wieffer (knock) and Joel Veltman (thigh) are doubtful for selection.

Brajan Gruda (knock), Solly March (knee) and Matt O’Riley (ankle) remain absent.

Ipswich have no fresh injury concerns to report with George Hirst (knee) and Wes Burns (hamstring) in contention, should the pair pass late fitness tests.

Harry Clarke (Achilles) and Nathan Broadhead (hamstring) are still sidelined.

When is Kick-Off?

Brighton host Ipswich at AMEX Stadium on Saturday 14 September at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Having enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season under Fabian Hürzeler, I do view Brighton as favourites especially after how united they looked in a gritty test against Arsenal with strong defending and a steady attacking performance.

Ipswich meanwhile will of been pleased to get their first point of the season with a clinical counter-attacking performance in a draw against Fulham, but they will need to be at their fast counter-attacking best if want anything here.

In fact I expect Ipswich to sit deep and try to soak up Brighton’s pressure with quick breakaway attacks, but I just can’t see them winning here if the Seagulls continue to play like they did last month.

Prediction: Brighton 2-0 Ipswich

Result: Brighton 0-0 Ipswich
