2024-25 Sky Bet Championship: Week Five – Friday

Hull City host Sheffield United at MKM Stadium as the Championship returns from the international break.

Victory would see Hull climb to 11th in the table, whilst Sheffield Utd can go third with a win.

Team News

Kasey Palmer and Liam Millar are doubts for Hull after representing Jamaica and Canada respectively on international duty, which resulted in them returning later than other players who were also involved in international action.

Ryan Longman (shoulder), Dogukan Sinik (tendon) and Andy Smith (ankle) remain sidelined.

Sheffield Utd could be without midfielder, Oli Arblaster after he withdrew from international duty for England Elite squad with an unspecified injury.

Femi Seriki (groin) and Andre Brooks (concussion) could return but Jack Robinson (unspecified) remains ruled out.

When is Kick-Off?

Hull host Sheffield Utd at MKM Stadium on Friday 13 September at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Prediction

Although Hull are winless so far this season, they’ve done a solid job to scrape three draws from four games but they now need to kick on and start to find a win if want to mount a promotion push soon.

Sheffield Utd meanwhile got a lucky winner early on against Watford in their last outing, but were otherwise quite wasteful in a dominant display which could of seen them score goals.

Now if Chris Wilder’s Blades can kick on and use that performance as a launchpad, they really should get another win but I do expect Hull to make it hard and possibly scrape a fourth draw in five games.

Prediction: Hull 1-1 Sheffield United

Result: Hull 0-2 Sheffield United
