Stat Attack
- This is Northern Ireland’s first Nations League meeting against Luxembourg.
- Luxembourg are yet to win away to Northern Ireland in all competitions (D1, L1).
- Northern Ireland have kept just one clean sheet in five previous meetings against Luxembourg.
- Connor Bradley has scored three goals in two of his last three appearances for Northern Ireland.
- Luxembourg have lost each of their last two matches in all competitions by 3-0 results. (L2).
Prediction
In a winnable group and with improving form this year, Northern Ireland certainly should believe that they can start this campaign with a home win but their defence now need to just cut out those mistakes.
Luxembourg meanwhile have just one win in 2024 but aren’t an easy team to play against when on form, so I am expecting them to pose a tough test if can rediscover their attacking spark.
Northern Ireland though should have the edge if they can continue to play with the same quality as we’ve seen in recent games.
Prediction: Northern Ireland 2-1 Luxembourg
Result: Northern Ireland 2-0 Luxembourg
