2024-25 Sky Bet Championship: Week Four – Friday

Luton host QPR in a Championship clash between two winless clubs at Kenilworth Road.

Victory would see Luton climb out of the relegation zone and up to 11th in the table, whilst QPR can climb to at least eighth with a win.

Team News

Luton have no fresh injury concerns to report after their Carabao Cup exit at QPR, as Tom Krauß (fitness) and Jacob Brown (knee) remain absent.

QPR too have no fresh injury concerns to report coming into this league match.

When is Kick-Off?

Luton host QPR at Kenilworth Road on Friday 30 August at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Luton have lost six of their last nine league meetings against QPR (W2, D1, L6).
  • QPR are unbeaten in four of their last five visits to Luton in the Championship (W3, D1, L1).
  • Luton failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last five home games against QPR.
  • Rob Edwards’ Luton are winless in their last four home matches (D1, L3).
  • QPR are yet to keep a clean sheet in all competitions this season (W1, D3, L1).

Prediction

This season hasn’t really caught alight so far for Luton with some wasteful performances, although three of those four fixtures were on the road in fairness so this could well be the kick-start that the Hatters need at home.

QPR meanwhile haven’t exactly caught ablaze themselves yet this season with no clean sheets, but they showed on Tuesday that they can handle Luton although I do suspect that there will be more squad changes here.

Either way, there is work to do for both teams after slow starts but QPR do seem to have a knack lately of grinding out results, and I do feel that it could be a case of Deja vu here.

Prediction: Luton 1-1 QPR

Result: Luton 1-2 QPR
