AFC Wimbledon will meet Newcastle United in the stand-out tie of third round draw in 2024-25 Carabao Cup.

Johnnie Jackson’s Dons overcame Ipswich on penalties and will now host Newcastle at Cherry Red Records Stadium, after Eddie Howe’s Magpies too needed penalties in their tie at Nottingham Forest.

Reigning champions, Liverpool start their title defence at home to West Ham in a repeat of last season’s Quarter-Final at Anfield.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham face a tricky test away to Coventry City, who almost eliminated Manchester United in a memorable semi-final in last season’s FA Cup.

Brentford will host Leyton Orient in one of two London derbies situated in West London, whilst Crystal Palace head to QPR.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa will visit League One’s Wycombe Wanderers in a tricky away tie at Adams Park.

Due to the expanded schedules of UEFA club competitions, the third round will be spread out across the midweeks of 17-18 and 24-25 September 2024.

Brighton and Everton will host Wolves and Southampton respectively in all Premier League ties.

Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Aston Villa will play their ties in the latter midweek, due to Champions League commitments in the first midweek

Man Utd and Tottenham’s ties meanwhile will be played in the first midweek, due to their Europa League commitments in the latter midweek.
