2024-25 League 1: Week One – Peterborough vs Huddersfield

Peterborough host Huddersfield in a standout fixture on opening weekend of 2024-25 League One.

Peterborough come into this campaign off the back of play-off heartbreak, whilst Huddersfield were relegated on the final day of the Championship season.

Hector Kyprianou is a doubt for Peterborough after he missed their last two pre-season friendlies with a knock.

George Nevett (wrist) and Ryan De Havilland (cartilage) are ruled out.

Huddersfield will be without Bojan Radulovic (groin) but Radinio Balker (ankle) is sidelined until the New Year.

When is Kick-Off?

Prediction

Having twice fallen short in the play-offs in the last two seasons and finished as top goalscorers last season, Peterborough now face a transition period following the exit of key players like Harrison Burrows and Ronnie Edwards.

Huddersfield meanwhile don’t seem to have brought in reinforcement for their defence which was their downfall last season, because their attack otherwise was pretty solid in contrast which seems to have continued in pre-season.

Either way, both clubs are coming into this opener off the back of a tough end to last season but if Huddersfield’s defence doesn’t buckle up, I can see the Posh taking the win.

Prediction: Peterborough 2-1 Huddersfield

Result: Peterborough 0-2 Huddersfield
