Ipswich Town have signed goalkeeper, Arijanet Muric from Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

Muric’s switch comes after he made 55 appearances in two seasons since he joined Burnley from Manchester City, and was part of the Clarets’ Championship title and promotion-winning squad in 2022-23 season.

Muric however couldn’t help save Burnley from Premier League relegation at the end of last season, having initially been displaced as first-choice goalkeeper by James Trafford but regained his spot for the last ten matches of the campaign.

Burnley however have accepted an undisclosed fee for Muric who has moved to Ipswich on a four-year contract until June 2028, as the Tractor Boys prepare for their first top-flight campaign in over two decades

I’m excited to have joined the Club and am looking forward to getting started,” commented Muric in his first interview to TownTV.

Muric proceeded to reveal that he had monitored Ipswich’s progress last season and has spoken with manager, Kieran McKenna about how he fits into the club.

“I watched how the team played last season and feel the style will suit me very well, so this is the perfect move for me.

“I have had good conversations with the Manager and Rene (Gilmartin, Head of Goalkeeping) and believe this is the right place for me to be as the Club moves into the Premier League.

“I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Muric could make his competitive debut for Ipswich on Saturday 17 August, at home to Liverpool at Portman Road in a 12:30pm BST kick-off live on TNT Sport 1 in the UK.
