Turkey and Georgia kick off Group F with a clash at Westfalenstadion in UEFA Euro 2024.
Victory would see either Turkey or Georgia go top of Group F before Portugal face Czech Republic in the evening kick-off.
Team News
Turkey have no fresh injury concerns to report following their warm-up friendly loss to Poland.
Georgia could be without Solomon Kvirkvelia and Otar Kiteishvili after the pair suffered knocks in a friendly win over Montenegro.
When is Kick-Off?
Turkey meet Georgia at Westfalenstadion, Dortmund, Munich, at 6pm CEST (5pm UK Time), live on BBC1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Turkey’s first meeting against Georgia at an European Championship.
- Georgia are winless in two previous competitive meetings against Turkey (D1, L1), which came in 2006 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.
- Both Turkey and Georgia have scored in their two previous competitive meetings, with Turkey netting six goals to Georgia’s three goals.
- Turkey have kept one clean sheet in their last six matches in all competitions (W1, D2, L3).
- Budu Zivzivdze has scored three goals in two of his last three appearances for Georgia.
Prediction
Although they’re winless in five matches, Turkey do have prior major tournament experience which should help them here but their defence needs to be more disciplined than it has been lately, but they do have the quality to at least try and get out of the group.
Georgia meanwhile are minnows but they certainly have the better attacking edge and form so I do expect them to relish this new experience of major tournament football, but if they score first then I do feel like they should kick on and get a result here.
Turkey though do have players who are capable of turning their rut around so a draw might look the fairest result.
Prediction: Turkey 1-1 Georgia
Result: Turkey 3-1 Georgia
