Craig Gordon and John Souttar have missed out on Scotland’s final squad selection for UEFA Euro 2024.

Having named a 28-man squad for friendlies against Gibraltar and Finland, manager – Steve Clarke had the simple task of cutting two players from his final selection.

Gordon consequently was the unlucky goalkeeper to miss out as his Hearts teammate, Zander Clark got the nod alongside Motherwell’s Liam Kelly and Norwich’s Angus Gunn.

Souttar meanwhile has been dropped from defence with Celtic’s Anthony Ralston and Greg Taylor both selected, alongside familiar players like Liam Cooper, Andrew Robertson and Kieran Tierney.

Clarke has retained his whole midfield which contains top goalscorer in their Qualifying group – Scott McTominay, plus Stuart Armstrong who has been released by Southampton upon expiry of his contract amongst others.

Ben Doak and Lyndon Dykes miss out in attack through injury and were replaced by Lewis Morgan and Tommy Conway ahead of their 2-2 friendly draw against Finland, in which Conway made his senior debut for the Tartan Army as a substitute.

Clarke’s Tartan Army will then meet Euro 2024 hosts, Germany in Munich in the tournament’s opening match on Friday 14 June at 9pm CEST (8pm UK Time), live on ITV1 in the UK.

Scotland will then face Switzerland in Cologne in their second Group A match on Wednesday 19 June, before meeting Hungary on Sunday 23 June in Stuttgart, with both matches commencing at 9pm CEST (8pm UK Time) and live on BBC1 in the UK.
