2023-24 UEFA Champions League Final Preview

Borussia Dortmund meet Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium, London, in 2023-24 UEFA Champions League Final.

Victory would see Borussia Dortmund claim a second Champions League title, whilst Real Madrid are chasing a record-extending 15th crown in this competition.

Sebastien Haller is a doubt for Borussia Dortmund after struggling with an ankle injury which kept him on the bench in the semi-finals, and forced him to miss their last five Bundesliga matches.

Ramy Bensebaini (knee) and Julien Duranville (muscle) remain ruled out.

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti could opt to start Thibaut Courtois in goal despite the Belgian having played just four matches this season, due to a serious knee injury.

David Alaba (ACL) and Aurelién Tchouameni (foot) are both sidelined.

When is Kick-Off

Borussia Dortmund face Real Madrid on Saturday 1 June at Wembley Stadium, London, in a 8pm BST kick-off, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.

Prediction

Considering that they’re considered underdogs in this final, Dortmund just need to come out and play with the same defensive resilience and smash-and-grab end product which we saw against PSG in the semi-finals.

Real Madrid meanwhile will certainly dominate this game given their attacking form and strong record against German opposition in Champions League Finals, but they will need to be clinical knowing what Dortmund did to PSG otherwise they could suffer a surprise cupset.

It is worth remembering that the last four finals in this competition were settled by 1-0 results so this could be another cagey showpiece, but I do think that Real will have enough to make this a routine outcome despite keeping one clean sheet in the knockout stages.

Prediction: Borussia Dortmund 1-2 Real Madrid

Result: Borussia Dortmund 0-2 Real Madrid
