Three Brentford midfielders have been named in Denmark’s Euro 2024 squad.
Mikkel Damsgaard, Mathias Jensen and Christian Norgaard headline a number of Premier League players named in the Denmark squad, with the Brentford midfield trio having managed six goals between them.
Their fellow Bees, Mathias Jorgensen and Mads Roerslev however have missed on the defensive selection, which includes Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen and Leicester’s Jannik Vestergaard.
Manchester United midfielder, Christian Eriksen has also been called up alongside Utd striker, Rasmus Højlund after the 21 year-old forward scored 16 goals in his first season at Old Trafford.
Tottenham midfielder, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is also included despite making just ten starts in his 39 appearances this season.
Leicester goalkeeper, Mads Hermansen is named as one of three goalkeepers alongside ex Foxes goalie, Kasper Schmeichel and Union Berlin’s Frederik Rønnow.
Denmark reached the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2020 where they lost to England, who coincidentally are in the same Group C as them at this summer’s tournament – with the pair meeting on Thursday 20 June (5pm UK Time) at Waldstadion, Frankfurt, Germany, live on BBC1 in the UK.
Either side of that match, Denmark will face Slovenia in their opening match in Stuttgart on Sunday 16 June (5pm UK Time), then wrap up their group phase against Serbia on Tuesday 25 June in Munich (8pm UK Time).
Both fixtures against Slovenia and Serbia respectively will be live on ITV1 in the UK.
