2023-24 Premier League: Week 35 – Bournemouth vs Brighton

Bournemouth face Brighton at the Vitality Stadium in a mid-table Premier League clash.

Victory could put Bournemouth up to ninth if Chelsea lose on Saturday evening, whilst Brighton can likewise go ninth albeit with a huge win.

Milos Kerkez is suspended for Bournemouth’s next three matches after he was red carded in their 1-0 win at Wolves.

Chris Mepham (illness), Ryan Fredericks (calf), Tyler Adams (back), Romain Faivre, Luis Sinisterra and Marcus Tavernier (all hamstring) remain absent.

Brighton have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 4-0 midweek loss to Manchester City.

Tariq Lamptey (muscle), Pervis Estupinan, Evan Ferguson (both ankle), James Milner (thigh), Jack Hinshelwood (foot), Kaoru Mitoma (back), Billy Gilmour and Solly March (both knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Bournemouth host Brighton at Vitality Stadium on Sunday 28 April at 2pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

Not totally out of the fight for an unlikely Europa Conference League spot, Bournemouth know that they just need to keep playing with the intensity like they’ve done lately but they were lucky that VAR denied Wolves an equaliser in midweek.

Brighton meanwhile never really stood a chance in their loss to Man City but they seemed to lack much fight once City got on top, which is a worry at a time when their season seems to be petering out with various injuries.

This game though does feel more winnable for the Seagulls but with Bournemouth’s form also looking inconsistent, I can see a tough scrap with a draw looking a reasonable result for both teams.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Brighton

Result: Bournemouth 3-0 Brighton
