Leicester City host Southampton in a crucial Championship clash in the race for promotion.
Victory would keep Leicester top of the table and can seal promotion if Leeds lose on Monday evening, whilst Southampton will stay fourth regardless of the result.
Team News
Leicester have no fresh injury concerns to report after their win over West Brom last weekend, with only Harry Souttar (knock) unlikely to feature despite his return to training.
Southampton will be without midfielder, Stuart Armstrong for the remainder of the season after he suffered a quad injury in their defeat at Cardiff.
Gavin Bazunu (Achilles), Juan Larios and Ross Stewart (both hamstring) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Leicester host Southampton at King Power Stadium on Tuesday 23 April at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Leicester have claimed 11 points in their last seven league meetings against Southampton (W3, D2, L2).
- Southampton have won three of their last five league visits to Leicester (W3, L2).
- Ex Leicester midfielder, James Maddison had scored in each of the Foxes’ last three home matches against Southampton.
- Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jamie Vardy have both scored in two of Leicester’s last three home matches.
- No Southampton player has been involved in more league goals this season than Adam Armstrong, who has made 33 contributions (20 goals + 13 assists) in 43 appearances.
Prediction
Although their form has been pretty inconsistent in the last two months, Leicester seem to have halted their slide on home turf at least and were clinical against West Brom in a fairly see-saw game but this is a huge opportunity to put promotion within their hands.
Southampton meanwhile really should of beaten Cardiff which would of given them massive belief coming into what could of been a gigantic six-pointer, although a win here is key if still want a shot at a automatic promotion spot.
Russell Martin’s Saints however can’t be as wasteful and sloppy as they were at Cardiff but I do expect them to respond here given Leicester’s own defensive fragility, so a draw might look a fair outcome even if it is a blow for the visitors’ automatic promotion hopes.
Prediction: Leicester 1-1 Southampton
Result: Leicester 5-0 Southampton
