Barcelona meanwhile met PSG in a fierce clash between two of European’s modern giants as both teams looked to keep their title dreams alive.

Three-time runners-up, Atletico Madrid looked to continue their push for a maiden title against 1996-97 winners, Borussia Dortmund who knew that winning this competition is one of their best hopes of qualifying for next season’s edition.

Now, here is a roundup of all four Quarter-Final ties.

Leandro Trossard rescued Arsenal a 2-2 draw at home against Bayern Munich, having initially led through Bukayo Saka’s early goal before Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane fired the German visitors ahead.

Joshua Kimmich’s 63rd minute header in the second leg ultimately saw Bayern win 1-0 at home and 3-2 on aggregate.

Real Madrid 4-4 Manchester City (Real Madrid win 4-3 on penalties)

Man City took an early lead through Bernardo Silva only for Ruben Dias’ equalising own-goal and Rodrygo to put Real Madrid ahead, until Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol struck in the second half for City but Federico Valverde salvaged a 3-3 draw for Real at home in the first leg.

Rodrygo’s 12th minute rebound strike was cancelled out by Kevin De Bruyne’s second-half equaliser in a tight second leg, which saw the tie finish 4-4 on aggregate and Real Madrid win 4-3 on penalties after Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic missed for City.

PSG 6-4 Barcelona

Andreas Christiansen’s 77th minute header handed Barcelona a 3-2 first leg win away to PSG, after Raphinha scored twice for the Catalonian club either side of goals from Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha who had put the French hosts ahead from behind.

Dembele and Vitinha were again on the scoresheet before Kylian Mbappe’s brace in the second leg as PSG came from behind to win 4-1 at the Nou Camp and 6-4 on aggregate, after Raphinha had put Barcelona ahead prior to Ronald Araujo’s red card for the hosts.

First-half goals from Rodrigo De Paul and Samuel Lino saw Atletico Madrid win their first leg at home by a 2-1 result, despite Sebastian Haller’s consolatory goal for Dortmund.

Late goals from Niclas Fullkrug and Marcel Sabitzer saw Dortmund snatch a dramatic 4-2 second-leg win to prevail 5-4 on aggregate after Julian Brandt and Ian Maatsen initially put them ahead, only for Atletico to equalise through Mats Hummels’ own-goal and Angel Correa’s effort.
