Tottenham Hotspur entertain Nottingham Forest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Victory would see Spurs go fourth on goal difference, whilst Forest will remain 17th regardless of the result unless lose by seven or more goals – which would drop them into the relegation zone.
Team News
Brennan Johnson is set to be available for Tottenham after he suffered a minor knock in their 1-1 draw at West Ham.
Richarlison (knee) is unlikely to feature as a precautionary measure, whilst Fraser Forster (foot), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) and Manor Solomon (knee) remain absent
Forest have no fresh injury concerns to report following their midweek win at home to Fulham.
Willy Boly (muscle), Nuno Tavares (thigh) and Taiwo Awoniyi (unspecified) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Tottenham host Forest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday 8 April at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Tottenham have won each of their last five Premier League meetings against Forest (W5).
- Forest lost 3-1 in their only previous league visit to Tottenham’s current home in March 2023 (L1).
- Spurs have scored 10 goals and conceded one goal in their last five league meetings against Forest.
- Son Heung-min has scored in Spurs’ last two home matches with both of his goals scored in the 88th minute.
- Forest have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six matches (W1, D2, L3).
Prediction
With a top-four spot now available following Aston Villa’s slip-up, Tottenham now need to just play their best attacking game but show more composure in their end product – which was pretty sloppy at West Ham on top of poor set-piece marking which the Hammers punished.
Forest meanwhile are still under pressure in the fight for survival and although they might be underdogs here, there is no doubt that they can cause issues if can bring the same attacking intensity and energy which battered Fulham in midweek.
I however can’t see Spurs letting a top-four opportunity slip but if they aren’t careful, Forest should at least make it a difficult contest and nick a goal.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Nottingham Forest
Result: Tottenham 3-1 Nottingham Forest
