Roundup of a dramatic Easter Monday as the race for promotion in the Championship delivered more drama.

Jeremy Sarmiento netted a 97th minute winner as Ipswich defeated fourth-placed Southampton to stay top with a 3-2 win, although Che Adams and Adam Armstrong had put the Saints either side of Leif Davis and Nathan Broadhead’s goals before the visitors’ James Bree was red carded.

Crysencio Summerville’s 88th minute penalty and Dan James’ injury-time strike kept Leeds one point behind in second with a 3-1 home win over Hull, after Sam Byram’s early header was cancelled out by Fabio Carvalho’s equaliser.

Second-half goals from Stephy Mavididi and Jamie Vardy saw third-placed Leicester beat sixth-placed Norwich 3-1 in a comeback win, after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall cancelled out Gabriel Sara’s early goal.

Late goals from Brandon Thomas-Asante and Darnell Furlong saw fifth-placed West Brom come from behind to draw 2-2 at home to Watford, after Edo Kayembe and Mileta Rajovic had put the Hornets in front.

Coventry missed a chance to move to within one point of the play-offs after Liam Kitching scored two own-goals to hand Cardiff a 2-1 victory at the CBS Arena, after Ellis Simms had put the Sky Blues in front.

Down in the relegation zone, Rotherham starved off relegation with a shock 2-1 home win over Millwall as Sebastian Revan and Charlie Wyke scored their first goals for the Millers, either side of Ryan Longman’s equaliser for the Lions.

Sheffield Wednesday remain second bottom after Michael Ihiekwe’s own goal condemned the Owls to an eventual 2-0 loss at Middlesbrough, which was confirmed by Isiah Jones’ second-half strike.

Huddersfield stayed third bottom after Bojan Radulovic’s clinical opening goal was cancelled out by Ki-Jana Hoever’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw away at Stoke.
