2023-24 Premier League: Week 31 – West Ham vs Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham face Tottenham Hotspur at London Stadium as both teams battle for European qualification.

Victory would see West Ham stay seventh and move to within one point of sixth-placed Manchester United, whilst Tottenham will stay fifth with a win unless can win by a two-goal margin at minimum.

Prediction

Following a late defensive meltdown at Newcastle from 3-1 up after having came from behind amidst a silly tactical decision by David Moyes, West Ham need to channel their frustrations here because their counter-attacking play was excellent in an otherwise strong display.

Tottenham meanwhile were pretty lucky to have beaten Luton because if the Hatters’ Issa Kabore hadn’t scored an own-goal, I do think that it would of finished in a draw at best because Tottenham’s attack looked sluggish in their end product which needs to be more clinical here.

I therefore do expect this to be a close game because neither team can afford to drop points but if West Ham can cut out their defensive errors, I can see them just having the edge.

Prediction: West Ham 2-1 Tottenham

Result: West Ham 1-1 Tottenham
