2023-24 Premier League: Week 30 – Bournemouth vs Everton

Bournemouth host Everton at the Vitality Stadium as both teams look to continue their battle for Premier League survival.

Andoni Iraola’s Cherries will stay 13th irrespective of the result due to their inferior goal difference to 12th-placed Fulham, although they are not totally mathematically safe yet.

Everton meanwhile can go 15th with a win because Brentford don’t play until the evening.

Prediction

Currently 14 points clear of the relegation zone and nine points off the final European spot – providing Chelsea nor Coventry win FA Cup, Bournemouth can afford to relax a bit but they do still need wins for momentum and mathematically guarantee safety.

Iraola’s Cherries though do need to be more defensively solid than they were in their last two home games, although the comeback win over Luton last time out from 3-0 down will surely inspire confidence coming into this game that they can get a strong result.

Everton meanwhile are facing another points deduction so can’t afford to drop focus but they need to start scoring goals ASAP if want to find more wins, which could prove key come end of season but they did play well defensively last time out in their defeat at Manchester United.

I however do foresee Sean Dyche’s Toffees struggling as has been the case in recent visits here and Bournemouth do have decent momentum behind them, which could well be the difference.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1-0 Everton

Result: Bournemouth 2-1 Everton
