2023-24 Sky Bet Championship: Week 38 – Sunday

Promotion-chasing Leeds United host Millwall at Elland Road in a Championship encounter.

Victory would return Leeds to second in the table but a win by two goals or more would see them move top of the table.

Millwall meanwhile will stay 16th even with a win unless they can beat Leeds by three goals or more – which would then see them move up to 15th in the table.

When is Kick-Off?

Leeds entertain Millwall at Elland Road in a 3pm GMT kick-off on Sunday 17 March, live on Sky Sports in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Leeds have avoided defeat in four of their last five meetings against Millwall (W3, D1, L1).
  • Millwall have won one of their last eight league visits to Leeds (W1, L7).
  • Leeds have scored three goals in each of their last three meetings at home to Millwall (W2, L1).
  • Crysencio Summerville has been involved in 23 of Leeds’ 68 league goals this season, in which he has scored 15 goals and made eight assists in 34 appearances.
  • Millwall have scored first in each of their last three away matches (W1, D1, L1).

Prediction

Unbeaten at home all season and with a chance to go top of the table, Leeds certainly are favourites if they can play as clinically as they did at Sheffield Wednesday but they will need to be wary of Millwall’s new-found confidence.

Neil Harris’ Lions also seem to have found an away groove with the opening goal in their last three away trips, which might actually stand them in good stead if can find the first goal at Elland Road then dig in defensively to try and grind out a draw.

Leeds however do look like they will be too strong but this should be a good openly competitive encounter, particularly heading into the international break and that all-important run-in where the hosts will need to continue their momentum.

Prediction: Leeds 2-1 Millwall

Result: Leeds 2-0 Millwall
