2023-24 Premier League: Week 28 – Brighton vs Nottingham Forest

Brighton & Hove Albion entertain relegation-battling Nottingham Forest at the AMEX Stadium.

Victory would see Brighton climb to seventh if West Ham lose elsewhere, whilst Forest can move further away from the relegation zone with a win.

Billy Gilmour is suspended for Brighton as he serves the third of a three-match domestic ban, despite having featured in the Seagulls’ 4-0 loss at Roma in the Europa League last Thursday evening.

Jack Hinshelwood (foot), Kaoru Mitoma (back), James Milner (thigh), Joao Pedro (hamstring) and Solly March (knee) remain absent.

Forest could welcome Willy Boly and Ola Aina back into contention following their recoveries from muscle injuries.

Nicolas Dominguez (thigh), Giovanni Reyna (knock) and Chris Wood (hamstring) could also be available for selection.

When is Kick-Off?

Brighton host Forest at the AMEX Stadium on Sunday 10 March at 2pm GMT, albeit untelevised live in the UK.

Prediction

After their humbling defeat at Roma littered with defensive errors and poor end product, Brighton really can forget achieving European qualification for next season via the Europa League so it is imperative that they reset quickly and prioritise a strong finish to the league campaign.

Forest meanwhile should feel hard done by to have not snatched a draw against Liverpool through poor end product despite an excellent defensive display which was undone by a silly refereeing decision, but they now need to use that result as motivation to get a result here.

Brighton though know that they need to pull together a consistent run from now on in if want to snatch European qualification, so I do expect a serious response from them here if can sort out their finishing but Forest should have enough to snatch a draw.

Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Nottingham Forest

Result: Brighton 1-0 Nottingham Forest
