Robbie Brady could return for Preston after he missed their win at Coventry with a knock.

Duane Holmes (knee) and Kian Best (ankle) could return but Brad Potts (hamstring) and Ched Evans (knee) remain absent.

Hull have no fresh injury concerns as Liam Delap remains ruled out with a knee injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Preston host Hull at Deepdale on Saturday 2 March at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Preston have won one of their last five meetings against Hull (W1, D2, L2).
  • Hull have won two of their last six league visits to Preston (W2, D1, L3).
  • Both teams have scored in five of their last six meetings at Deepdale in all competitions except for a goalless draw in August 2022.
  • Emil Riis Jakobsen has scored in each of Preston’s last four matches (W3, D1).
  • Hull are yet to lose in a game in which Fabio Carvalho has scored (W2, D1).

Prediction

Although their goal difference is currently inferior to their nearest rivals, Preston were absolutely brilliant in their win at Coventry with a front-footed and well-controlled performance but they now need to continue that form at home where they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in the past month.

Hull meanwhile found themselves in a proper scrap against West Brom and a draw was a fair result but they will need to be at their best to keep Preston quiet, so that experience against the Baggies might just stand them in good stead here.

I however do feel like Preston should have too much for Hull especially if can score early, but this nevertheless should be a cracking game, particularly because defeat could be costly come end of season when it comes to the final play-off spot.

Prediction: Preston 1-1 Hull

Result: Preston 0-0 Hull
